Threading

Eyebrow threading is a technique to remove hair with simply a string of thread. It is chemical free and gentle. Eyebrow threading is ideal for clients with sensitive skin as there are no allergic reactions and no chemicals used. Although eyebrow threading is all natural and hypoallergenic, there is a chance that you can breakout after threading or get whiteheads after threading, much more-so if you do not handle the aftercare accordingly. There are many reasons some people breakout after threading and others don’t. However, we have found that the best solution to preventing breakouts after threading is cleanliness. Threading pulls hair out from the follicle root. When the hair is pulled out, the pore is opened. If the area is not clean, bacteria are able to enter into the pore, clogging it, and thereby causing a breakout.

If you are prone to breakouts, follow these steps to reduce your chances of getting whiteheads after threading.

Wash your face before getting threading. This means thoroughly cleaning off any makeup, sunscreen, and oils to prevent these products from seeping into your newly opened pores.

After getting threaded, place witch hazel or acne astringent on threaded areas. Most salons should have witch hazel and aloe for you to place on threaded areas to prevent breakouts.

Do not touch or rub your face with your hands.

Wash your face at home with an acne-fighting scrub or foam cleanser the same evening you were threaded.

Following the four steps above will help reduce whiteheads after threading significantly.
